Dear Mr. Bush, Dear Mr. Cheney,
Allow me to offer my condolences on your impending unemployment. I am sure this is a very busy time for you, which is why I would like to offer to you the services of my cat. She possesses remarkable talents in the art of paper shredding - of which I am certain you are in desperate need at the moment.
Attached, please find a visual resume of her qualifications.
Kind regards and good riddance.
P.S. She is also very good at catching bugs. Perhaps there is a cabinet position available for her in the Department of Homeland Security? Please feel free to pass her details on to the President Elect, as I am sure his future offices will greatly benefit from her abilities.

LOL....
Hi Audra!
I'm a New Yorker who has been living in Phoenix, Arizona since 1994. And even though I'm in Phoenix, my husband and I do not like McCain and really can't stand Sarah Palin. We volunteered to make phone calls and contributed to Obama's campaign and we were hoping Arizona would "go blue" but we're just thrilled that Obama won! How are folks in Australia looking at the outcome of the election?
I came across your blog because I traveled to Australia in 2000 and would like to visit again some time soon. I just loved Sydney...my husband has never been, and we hope to plan a trip, but need to wait for the economy to turn around. By the way, we have two cats so I really liked your photo of your cat shredding paper! Too funny! Thanks for letting me share my thoughts.
Sue in Arizona
Hello Sue in Arizona.
If you want to come to Sydney over Christmas and cat sit, I have two weeks of free accomodation in a luxury high rise apartment for you...
The reaction here was extremely favorable. It was as if overnight, Australia could like America again. Everyone wanted to talk to an American last week, and I am actually quite drained from all the emotional commotion. Bush and his policies are not well regarded here, and it gives Australians a prejudice against Americans until you start talking about it. In general, Australians have a far broader view of the world than the average American, and they, like much of the world *want* to like us and be friends.
Thank you, Audra, for your very generous invitation! We wish we could travel, but things are really tight right now. Believe me, when things turn around and we can make the trip, I'll let you know. I loved Sydney! And, even though my trip was short, I recall the Australians being so friendly. I was actually in Melbourne for Christmas and recall everyone wearing paper crowns/hats. I can't recall why..and isn't there a holiday on the 26th? By the way, one of my best memories from that trip was the excursion we took to Phillip Island to see hundreds of little penguins come in from the ocean at dusk. Have you traveled a lot while living in Sydney? Thanks again for your generous offer!
LOL!! I think you might just get a phone call with a job offer!
Your kitty is adorable! :)
ms audra, if you don't mind too much, i would like to offer the services of your cat to the governor of alasaka as i feel she could well use an extra pair or hands sorting out trooper-gate paperwork and locating her shopping receipts.
